I practiced under Avanti Counseling and Consulting for five years and gained so much knowledge and insight under Jeremy Pierce, my clinical supervisor, and Chris Missimo, my business mentor. Under their business model, I was able to achieve my direct client hours as an associate in less than three years and gain business skills to run my own practice, Winds and Waves Counseling.  Avanti supported and assisted me by providing training for scheduling, consultations, progress notes, secure documentation, obtaining independent licensure, and billing and finance systems. When I desired to create new informed consent paperwork for an additional therapy option, Chris, with his additional education in law, helped me produce a thorough and accurate client form to protect myself and my clients. Supervision and client questions for concerns or issues were always provided by Jeremy in a timely manner, with any assistance I needed, but also with patience and encouragement so I could learn and grow as a clinician. Avanti also encouraged relationship building by organizing meetups and get-togethers with peers. 

Now that I’m running my own private practice, I continue to appreciate the professional skills and knowledge that I gained from Avanti, and the support and timely assistance that I received from Chris and Jeremy. My time and training with Avanti allowed me to explore my direction and interests with client populations, network with other therapists, receive marketing and technology skills, and seek additional trainings and insight to assist with client systems and individuals. Chris and Jeremy provided a fun learning environment where I still feel that I can reach out to them for guidance, support, or questions!
